TYPE OF OPERATION AND MINES
Underground in the Acchilla mine.
EXPLOITATION METHOD Overhand cut and fill stope mining method. Average progress made in Explorations:
Jackleg drilling and controlled blasting.
Advancement using pneumatic shovels; hauling and transportation by locomotives and U – 35 mine cars.
Detrital stope filling.
TREATMENT METHOD Final products: silver – gold – lead concentrate. Treatment capacity: 400 DST per day.
6 bins of coarse ore feed the 6’ x 12’ Magensa wash mill.
The coarse ore is reduced by two 4’ and 3’ Symons crushers which in turn feed a 5’x10’ Comesa mill.
Lead – silver bulk concentrate is obtained from the flotation process.
Thickening and drying.
Tailings are sent to the Acchilla Nº 9 tailings pond.
FACILITIES
HEALTH: 1 hospital. EDUCATION: 1 primary school (Includes provision of breakfast; Library, Video-library – TV, videos, laboratory). ELECTRIC ENERGY: This is obtained from 3 hydroelectric power plants: Huapa, Tucsipampa and El Ingenio. The remaining power is obtained from the National Interconnected Electric System.
